Rift

The Rift allows you to skip through floors 1-10 much faster than playing them normally. It is a new feature and may need extra tuning.

[Lives]

  • You regenerate lives up to the difficulty starting lives when the Rift ends. Don't worry about resetting after a death or two.
    • This may change in the future but right now the Rift is not super well tuned.

[Access]

  • Unlocks after you beat Floor 10 for the first time.
  • Unlock is account-wide.
    • I may change it to be job based in the future, but I want more rift testing now.
  • After readying up in Wyrd, the Rift portal will spawn in the top left.
  • All party members must have the Rift unlocked for it to appear.
  • Unlocking the Rift on Norman difficulty will not unlock it on Einherjar.
    • Einherjar unlocks will unlock Norman.

[Levels & Shops]

  • When you start the Rift, you immediately go to level 30/25, as if you beat F5.
  • You'll have a Boon token & Accessory token.
  • Tinders is a 1-stop shop for all of the operations you need done.
  • She rolls all of your random skill scrolls from F1-F4 at once.
  • Shops do not restock in the Rift.

[Boss Selection]

  • You select 4 bosses.
    • This will be the mobs, FoE, and boss you fight each wave.
  • A fifth boss is auto selected based on your progress.
  • The earlier waves spawn less monsters.
    • Counter-intuitively, this means it's a good idea to fight harder floors earlier if you are having a hard time.

[Cube]

  • Enter the portal & hit the Cube to start the waves.
  • After spawning a boss, the Cube gains invulnerability for 3s.
  • The Cube cannot take more than 5% of its max HP from a single attack. When it does, it gains invulnerability for about 1s.
    • This is to prevent certain glitches that allow full phase skips.
  • Defeating the Cube is the only win condition. You can keep DPS'ing it and skip bosses if you want.
  • Stop hitting the cube to stop progressing waves.
  • When a boss spawns, the Cube puts up barriers.
  • The Cube gets a little stronger each wave.

[Scaling]

  • The Rift has normal party & difficulty scaling applied to monsters.
  • More mobs spawn with more party members.

[Unfinished features]

  • The cube will gain some basic pattern attacks in the future.
  • Cube HP scale should scale by party. Currently does not.
  • Right now when you finish the Rift, you just get 27,000 score (base). But there should be more scoring metagame based on Rift performance.
  • OPB/OBB rewards should also scale with score.
